[es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."
Happy Mother's Day! Thanks for doing such a good job.

This photo is obviously circa that one time Alix tried to cut her own hair. I had to took twice to see who was Alix and who was Eric (sorry if you're reading this, Alix).
That was my exact thought when I saw that picture. We were in Stonington,CT on Long Island Sound with Susie and Brian. I remember we were all happy that weekend and it comes through in that photograph. Everyone should dress their kids in bright clothes, don't you think?
So true about bother and sister looking like twins! Curious? What's that pink thing wrapped around Alix? It looks like some sort of creative wrap...Totally cute picture. Your mother did a great job!

This is why everyone always thought Eric and I were the twins. It is eerie how much we looked alike.
